A rich henna stain is built in the hours after the paste comes off, not just in the mix. Keep the paste on as long as you comfortably can, seal it with a lemon-sugar dab to keep it moist, and avoid water for at least six hours after removal. Warmth helps too — a warm room or a few minutes near steam encourages the dye to release fully into the skin. Finally, oils matter: clove and eucalyptus both raise the paste's staining power naturally, without any chemical additives.
